The new american dream is escaping the 9-5

Come to the Midwest. It's cheaper to live in some of the smaller cities and towns, and we could definitely use some new opportunities in the job market. My husband and I make less than 6 figures combined and we still managed to save up for a small starter home in 5 years, with student debt from a private college. The 9-5 jobs that are out here are pretty dull, but plenty of opportunities if you know a trade. A lot of customer service type jobs that are hard to advance in, otherwise.

I know a lot of people outside the Midwest give it a hard time because there is nothing to do out here, but there are cities out here with plenty of culture and activities. You just need to do your research and decide which one you like most.
