First of all, it's a travel organization unrelated to the government who stated it's fine to go on a wintersport in northern Italy. Which was, without the knowledge we have now, a not so crazy statement.

Secondly, just because hundreds of kilometers further there's an outbrake of Covid-19 doesn't mean you should put tens of thousands of people in distress to test for a 0.000001% chance of someone having Corona. It makes no sense to spread your resources like that. Such a test is expensive, uncomfortable and takes a lot of time and resources.

I understand your worries, really. And it's clearly the fault of the government for not communicating properly why they take or do not take certain actions you, as an uneducated citizen, would expect them to take.
