A new Chess-Themed (yes really) Worms Map for the Hatters! chaturangan Combat!

I'd had this idea for a small while but with feedback from today's Worms video I figured out how it should be layed out. The map's based around large open spaces divided into three main sections. Horizontal walls are thicker to keep this state for a few rounds though vertical walls are thinner and easily destructable to enable aerial bombardment. The focus is evident, between the King and Queen pieces, and it's where you'll see the bulk of the action whereas the Bishop is separated just to avoid team wipes and provide some amusing opportunities for longshots.

Visually I'm surprised by how well Chess pieces translate, though I guess their simple design works quite well and cutting into them for tunnels doesn't look bad. Of course trying to draw angled anything with Worm's map editor is painful, I don't know why I did so many pieces. It's one of each main piece and 5 pawns, in case you cared somehow. I toyed initially with adding background struts but eventually went with piling on the Chess Pieces cos it looked visually cleaner.

I've not included any objects, environmental or otherwise, as again it seems to muddy the visuals but also it doesn't really add much to the gameplay. Mines have been used to block in some vunerable people near the bottom and the top to force some creative play, the turret in the centre should provide a bit of variety as a rarely seen challenge while the others at the edge are basically to stop cheapo hiding. Barrels have been added mostly near thinner walls to make opening up areas easier.

So yeah, I hope this along with Lumpy Explorers and The Foundry are much funner maps to play on! Hope they come in handy Hatters!
