As far as names go, a more neutral name could work until she is comfortable with using her chosen name.

Personally i have my legal name, my chosen name which only my partner currently knows and my nickname which is what i go by for the day to day. My friends use my nickname, my partner uses my nickname in public and my chosen in private (and i cannot express how much i enjoy hearing it, always makes me grin like an idiot) , and i use my legal name only as needed for more official things.

At this point my legal name isnt exactly comfortable but i tend to view it as a mask, it hides my true identity and keeps things safer and simpler for until im comfortable taking it off.
