New here, suprise diagnosis for my daughter.

I got an Accu Chek Guide recently, the readings seem a little lower than the Walmart Relion Prime, and that one seemed a little lower than the One Touch Ultra that I used to use. Accu Chek uses a lot less blood. They keep telling me my A1C is higher than the meters suggests it is — I dunno what the disconnect is. So, when she goes to see the doctor, check her glucose at the same time as they check her glucose in the office or when she has a blood draw done, and then you can see if it is anywhere near accurate.

As far as carbs ... I just try to avoid them except for like broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini and salads. (Makes management easier, IMO.) So, I don’t count the carbs much — if I’m buying packaged food, I just look at the label, “Carbohydrates g” vs. “servings” — if it is more than 9g/serving, I don’t even buy it. And if it is like 7g/ serving but there are like 20 servings in a little container, then I do my best to limit how much I eat or avoid it. As far as correcting, I just do some exercise for 10 minutes, if I can, and it drops down to where I want.
