New job, have the option of an HSA

They're charging more for the HDHP? Incredible. They used to be cheaper because people used them less. Like by half. The everything included plans used to cost double.

I've also noticed that when you go to many doctors now they charge more if you have an HDHP. The explanation I was given was "it will help you reach your deductible faster". Yeah..paying double would do that, but I'd rather pay the same as the other guy. They said that to me with a totally straight face as well.

Normally HSA is awesome with it's triple tax savings. But the more popular these HDHP have become, the more they've started charging on them. I guess it's only $10 a month more, but it does piss me off to read that.
