New laws will allow the use of military to break protests - The Pen

But here's the thing, there's a list of very reasonable changes that the NSW Government and Police could implement with minimal costs and effort to negate the issues raised.

However, the Coalition Government isn't pressing ahead with those changes at the behest of internal pressures and from NSW Police itself.

The government here is clearly failing in its duty to keep its own Police force effective, and really the public here has a duty to hold them to account. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the NSW voters look set to return the government for another term, clearly failing in their duty of holding ineffectual parliaments to account.

The breakdown here is simply, neither the public nor government appear to want to address the issue, so until one of variables shifts, that's where we're stuck at.

And the states who are doing the right thing, every other state essentially, shouldn't be collectively punished because NSW voters don't know when to kick out shitkickers who are incapable of taking responsibility.
