New mask rules trust Americans will be honest about vaccine status. Experts say they'll lie.

I think this depends on location, and the percentage of people we think will lie is overestimated. I live in one of the most liberal zip codes in the US. Everyone is worried anti-maskers will lie in supermarkets. The issue is, we don’t have anti-maskers here, we voted 95% blue...

People here say they will still wear masks throughout June to make others feel safe even if they are vaccinated. I would normally support it, but we live in such an educated and socially responsible community, that it just doesn’t make sense to me that we can’t trust each other when probably at least %80 of the people in my Whole Foods/TJ’s right now are already fully vaccinated. It’s normal to not trust other people, but I think 10-20 years ago, people wouldn’t have such trust issues for something like this. This is what a divided society does...
