New to Motörhead but...

In the 80's I had friends that were hardcore fans but at best I would have considered myself a casual fan. Then decades later they were playing in town (that I was aware of but didn't go to). I walked into a neighbourhood bar in the afternoon and Lemmy was sitting there. I sat down a few seats away as you don't crowd any man in a dive bar when it's 80% empty. Knowing he's a WWI/WWII buff I said to him "The Americans, the Brits and the Canadians ass raped my hometown on D-Day" He slides his drink down to me, points to the barmaid to order himself another and says "Sainte-Mère-Église?" I said "no, XXXXXXX" (hometown name hidden) He asks "Why the fuck would the allies fuck a Canadian town?" I moved a couple of seats closer and we talked almost exclusively about WWII. I never acknowledged that I knew he was who he was, he never brought it up, we were just to old men talking about the war. That night I decided to give the band a second chance and have been a huge fan ever since.
