New to You November 2019: A few days late edition - What new games did you play this month?

Regarding more players, we found the race for landmarks to be a more interesting pace and decision space, and interactions via the military track and civ specific actions seemed more robust.

Our very first game my wife blew me out of the water, but every game since then (6-7 total) has had a very close point spread. The only thing that feels weird is the sheer amount of end game scoring, but this doesn't strike me any differently than something like Concordia.

So, there's a time and a place for Serious Business. It's the kind of mindset that leads you to discover that Rusviet/Industrial doesn't need to be a thing, missiles in vanilla Eclipse are bad, or shields in core set Xia are wild. And when I'm sitting down to a COIN game or a Lacerda I've got that hat put on, absolutely. For a game like this though, the enjoyment level isn't found through optimization, strict efficiencies, or hyper competitive strategies. Pick one of four choices, do the thing, move on.

I empathize with folks who wanted some kind of medium to heavy strategic experience but I believe the issue is expectation moreso than any kind of serious design blunder. Jamey could have blind tested the thing for another year and the community would have kicked up something weird. Just my take. I understand that it's a polarizing topic around here.
