New to paganism

Why are you Pagan, and not an adherent of any "major" religion?

I don't really know what kind of self-descriptor I would attach to my beliefs at the moment, but "pagan" seems to be the most fitting right now. Certainly the impulse towards this worldview has been with me for quite a while, and I've always been fascinated by world religions in general. But I don't really see what I believe right now in the major world religions. Although Buddhism and Taoism do still highly interest me.

What "kind" of Pagan are you? What God(s) do you worship?

I suppose druidic, in a sense. The Romano-British pantheon interests me. Of course, I'm also interested in the Egyptian pantheon somewhat. The good news is that the Greek, Roman and Egyptian pantheons blend somewhat. But I'm really bad at remembering all the Egyptian names, etc. So I generally remain Romano-British and druidic. Right now Coventina is a major presence for me.

How do you practice, since there are a lack of communities and organizations of believers?

Mainly contemplative and spontaneous right now. I'm generally a newbie, and I realize that my beliefs are still rather unsettled due to stuff going on in my life. There's also no formal group where I live right now, either.

How does one convert to Paganism? What is your conversion story?

It's been a while coming, but also somewhat sudden. Mainly just as my life and religious thought developed, I found myself more and more where I am now.

What is it like being a pagan where you live?

Like being much of anything else, I suppose. Most folks here are either irreligious or view religion as something private. And I'm a private person, myself. So it works.

How does one know which deity or tradition to follow?

Well, as you could see, I may not have the best answer to that question ;) But I've just sort of felt "called" by both Coventina and Anubis. Which gives me two different traditions and deities. Although, as folks here told me, I can respectfully decline. It's probably best for me to remain Romano-British, just because it's more respectful to the deities that I can remember names and other important things.
