New patch coming Tuesday according to Facebook

It's not just SDS.. It's the gaming industry as a whole.. 90% of games released nowadays are broken, unfinished, filled with errors/glitches/bugs, don't work on day 1, need day 1 patches..

very few developers come to mind when talking about TOP NOTCH support for a game after it releases... and those are CD Projekt Red and how they handled The Witcher 3 and Guerilla Games with the current outstanding post-launch support for Horizon Zero Dawn.

IMO the thing that honestly makes this SDS and MLBTheShow17 situation even worse is that it's a 1st party studio owned by Sony/PlayStation.

It is and has been a STAPLE in the PS lineup of exclusive games and has consistently garnered critical praise over the years for being the "Highest Rated Sports Game"

Even when you put the online issues aside and don't mention them.. The game still has tons of quirky animations and issues that definitely shouldn't be happening.

It's just sad that the gaming industry has gone big business so quickly.. They can make all the forums and all the community managers they want. But they will never actually care about the CONSUMER..

We're talking BIG $$$... MLB contract rights... MLBPA, HOF rights... I mean for the money they spend on that shit... You'd at least think they'd have enough $$$ to buy some credible online servers...

Also I've noticed no one on this subreddit as mentioned Kill Strain... Sony San Diego is responsible for that game also... and it has been in the news recently about getting shut down and the servers going off.

I just wonder if the two have anything to do with each other.. Or like why is SDS still bothering with that obviously dead game when they should be putting absolutely all of their available assets onto the issues with MLB The Show...

It's business man.. and they just care about the money....

It's different than other video games in a way.. I mean for example a character artist isn't tapping into his creativity by creating a completely new character from scratch... these dudes are programming models of real-life baseball players.. they probably don't have the same passion they would have if they were making up a new character from the ground up.
