As a new player

This Is Your Holy Expedition Bible - You will/should be using these extremely helpful charts to set up your expedition fleet compositions based on the resourses you need at the moment. Start doing the expedition chain to unlock expedition 37 and 38 as your grow your fleet so you can start doing expeditions that give you the most bang for your buck Which you can reference here!

Getting 10k plus resources is possible but when you're actively grinding your ship levels (like you should be doing) and unlocking new maps it's unrealistic to expect your resources to get/stay that high. Most TTk with that lvl of resources are just consistently running expeditions and doing the bare minimum to complete dailies/weeklies/monthlies cause they have their fleets fully grinded or are confident evnough that they literally don't even play the game until an event comes around. That means their resources keep building up (stockpiling) and you shouldn't really worry about having those resource numbers since you would be making more repairs when events come around if your ships are underleveled if you just focus on stocking.

A good goal for new TTK is to aim for unlocking great grinding spots for their fleets like 2-4, 3-2, 1-5 and 4-3. This way you're making progress that'll help make it easier to grind your fleet lvls up while keeping resource costs to a minimum! A helpful guide I use would be this one!

Another helpful thing would be to go into Twitch TTK streams and ask questions! The english speaking community on their is very helpful and I learned a whole lot as a streamer playing the game by interacting with the more experienced TTK. Here's a link to the Twitch Kancolle Channel!

I only had a month when i started playing before the event came along (spring 2015) and referencing the wiki/asking questions on Twitch I got my fleets up to the point where i was able to clear the entire event on easy! I wish you luck and hope this all proves helpful!
