New realtor... worst part of the job is working with other realtors....

Haha yes!! I started off on a team and they had me doing their open houses and running their clients around when they were too busy. They weren't really doing anything for me aside from taking 35% of my commissions, and I felt like a real ditz when people asked me questions the "listing agent" should know. I went off on my own, and I am not really any further ahead (aside from I have my own listing!) but I'm definitely not any further behind so I'm looking forward to collecting my first full commission.

Also, my biggest pet peeve is pictures of the furniture or a random bird.

I worked with buyers mostly to start with, and I'm trying to steer from that and work more on getting listings. Now that I have a listing, I can't really tell who actually has the 'power' in these situations. Buyers seem to REALLY want a specific house and sellers seem to REALLY want to sell, yet I find all the negotiating and game playing makes people a lot more stubborn than they are normally.

If I'm honest, I kind of hate working in real estate. I love the houses and think it's pretty fun when things are going well, but I'm not the type of person that would flinch at $5000.00 if I really wanted to move or I really wanted to sell. I wouldn't care if a window needed replacing or even if a furnace was on it's last life, if I really loved the house. I'm the type of person that would make an offer after viewing the house once for a half an hour and save the $500.00 on a house inspection because I think they are a waste of money.

Yet my job is to encourage other people to get house inspections, take their time deciding, and document every thing. Some days I really just want to quit, but the money is good and I work from home at my other job and like the socialization and flexibility of real estate.
