New Savage is out on Steam [Early Access]

Being a long Savage 1 and HoN beta fan, and playing / contributing to Savage 2 over the years I instantly bought Early Access. Game seems ok so far, there is definitely potential, but I don't know if I'd agree with S2 saying it's 'playable' here are my general points about the game so far.

Cons: -Graphics are using some kind of mip map tech and the actual textures take a few seconds to pop onto the model causing immersion removal. Also a lot of texture flickering on buildings. The graphics at times didn't seem better than Savage 2's to be honest. -Controls seem kind of lunky and slow on the responsive side. -Combat needs A LOT of tweaking, which is scary because that's why Savage 2 did so bad was the constant combat changes. Combat is very boring and stale right now, does not feel like Savage 1's combat at all, feels like Savage 2's combat shudder -Hitboxes are atrocious, making combat even more skewed. -Not balanced at all. Beasts can leap for what seems like forever, if you try to block (which you can be damaged through) they will just leap behind you and kill you in 2 shots. -UI is not very good, there's no theme, just a random collection of items on the screen with random tooltips and very small text popups for telling you what you're mining / repairing / etc. -The savage world is now in the future? There's flying robots and giant robot monkeys? It just seems really weird and not fitting to be fighting a giant robotic monkey with a bone saw. -Lighting was HORRIBLE, I was on a snow map with bloom and lens flare turned off and no way to reduce brightness, I couldn't see anything but a big white screen if I looked a specific direction. -Can't hold the mouse button down to mine resources or repair so it felt like a spam fest and my mouse just lost a couple years off it's life.

Pros: - Seemed to follow the buildings tech tree / unit pool system from Savage 1 which was cool. - It kept the leveling up your armor / weapons / labour ability thing in from Savage 1. - There is definitely potential here to re-live the glory days of Savage 1! - Will be fun to play with friends. - I think they learned from their mistakes on Savage 2, HoN and Strafe and hopefully are coming full circle back to the true fans. - It's still early access and I think if we give good feedback they will listen and get this one right.
