I'm both happy and sad to hear about this. Happy due to the fact that they might find Maddie's remains. But sad due to the hype it's creating. I can't imagine what the parents are going to feel (if they had nothing to do with it , that is) hearing about a promising lead about their daughters dissapearance, and then finding out it was a false lead. Why can't the police or whoever just do the search or follow up on leads in secret and the come public with the results. I get that it's good news there's a lead, buy the hype and then dissapointment it will create isn't worth it for the parents. They just want closure for their daughter.

It was the same with the new lead on the Beaumont Children a few years ago. I can't imagine how the parents felt after what was called the best lead the police have had in over 50 years didn't produce anything.
