New search and rescue aircraft won’t be operating this summer, military confirms

Isn't the RCAF massively short on pilots. How would the RCAF absorb manning of 16 additional transport aircraft?

ACSO and AES Op training probably only need 4 aircraft to support 402. The mission suite, radar and EO/IR could potentially serve as good lead-in the mission suite on the CH148 and CP140 (where the majority of ACSOs and AES Op end up). Simulators are getting better but like everything there are gaps. Do you really want sending people all the way to the OTU before realizing sitting sideways in a tube 200' over the Atlantic bouncing all over the place isn't exactly same as the 1g quiet simulator? For reference all our allies (RAF, RN, USAF, RAAF etc...) that employ similar trades to ACSOs and AES Ops in similar platforms have a flying portion to their training. What makes you think Canada can suddenly off-load it all to the simulator?
