New Starbucks CEO plans to pull barista shifts in stores every month

You're literally twisting this into "you made an argument against me" when you replied to my top-level comment to start with. Yes, it's easy to "tear this guy down" because it's a bullshit PR move, as it has been a hundred times before. Go through the other comments on this Reddit post, and read about the multiple accounts by Starbucks employees about how useless and a pain-in-the-ass this is when a Regional Manager does it. Now apply that to the literal company CEO.

And you've already preemptively handwaived away basically any form of direct or indirect communication, extensively, so I haven't bothered to argue anything along those lines with you. You seem fixated on the idea that rubbing a little grease on his own face for an afternoon will 'connect him with the folks on the front lines'. I don't need to give you a 10-point opposition plan to point out how silly and meaningless that is. It is less than doing nothing, it is requiring overworked people to spend extra energy to coddle him so he can play pretend for his own benefit. If you want to CEO Worship for performative acts of "humility", there's an 11 season TV show you can go binge. It's not an original idea, nor a useful one, and you don't, in fact, "gotta hand it to him". I'm not a sounding board for your endearment for the CEO of Starbucks for fuck's sake.
