What is General Bio like at UCSB?

Competitive. You can do a lot with bio here, depends what you want to do though.

Is there anything unique about it I should consider?

Depends. We have a lot of top tier neurobiologsts, psychologists, economists, marine biologists...Really depends what you want to do, but you're still going to get your run of the mill undergrad program here.

What about when comparing it to the Bio programs at the other schools I got accepted to?

You'd need to find someone that went to all those schools to compare. Bio is probably not too different from UCSC/UCD (idr what other schools you put)

How impacted is General Bio and other Biology-related majors there?

Course wise, not a huge issue till you get to upper divs. Ochem lab is usually a bitch to get into.

What is the On Campus housing situation like? Is it really crowded like UCLA, or is it not that bad?

On campus housing is nice, and they expanded recently so it's probably not too bad. we have a relatively large campus

How available will housing be as I go through my four years? Also, I'm planning on being some kind of research biologist as a career, so research opportunity is really important to me too. How is the availability of research opportunities for undergrads? If any of you guys are researching something really cool, let me know, I'm down to hear it.

Ill get to these soon
