New Study Says Democracy on the Retreat in Over 96 of the 193 U.N. Member States

Long story short, I'm working in telecom right now, involved in the software side of the long chain of processes to bring LTE towers online. I'm losing my job soon (not my choice) and this is the second time I've been burned by a company by being let go for stupid reasons after performing far above and beyond what my job title called for. Think a teir 1 support person being paid $35-40k doing the same work (often better) than 6 figure engineers.

Needless to say, I've just had enough of the stress and bullshit. My plans are, I'm moving to the middle of nowhere on a large plot of land. I plan on being able to maintain a small garden, hunt, try and become somewhat self sustaining (or able to ramp up to it quickly) while living off what little savings I'll have left.

I'm up in the air for what I want to do for employment, ever since I've started working various support and IT roles (I've got a diverse resume, but it all boils down to supporting tech) I've found myself losing all passion I once had for my hobbies. I've got ~$3k in parts for my gaming rig that I can't even be bothered to reassemble and servers that are being neglected. So I'm still up in the air, but I'm either going to look for a support type position I can work from home with, or I'm going to find a local job doing something a bit more manual.

Before someone calls me out on being able to pick and choose jobs, you have to understand something. The stress from my previous jobs has destroyed me. One place in particular pushed me so long, for so hard, that I just broke and ended up having daily panic attacks for around a year. During that time I lost everything and my family almost became homeless. It's also severely damaged my ability to handle stress, so sadly just because I would be hired for a job does not mean that job is necessarily a option for me.
