New study says SSRI antidepressants need to be added to list of drugs that induce withdrawal symptoms upon discontinuation. SSRI withdrawal symptoms include depression and anxiety which are being confused with relapse of original illnesses and causing people to stay on drugs longer than needed.

Okay, I wasn't going to share this story because I usually don't like discussing personal/family matters on internet forums, but I told my wife about this thread, and she urged me to go ahead, because it may be a help to you and others.

Several years ago, my wife started going through menopause, and it hit her hard - hot flashes, mood swings (rage one minute, crying the next, irrational behavior), sweating and then freezing at night - it was driving her mad, and frankly, it wasn't much fun for me either.

She went to her gynecologist, who told her that hormone therapy was out of the question because of a family history of cancer, BUT, she insisted that SSRI's can really help, so she prescribed Paxil, and of course, she told her nothing of the potential side-effects, let alone the withdrawals.

Anyway, she started taking the pills, and while they did seem to help with her anxiety (at first), they did nothing to relieve the hot flashes, night sweats, etc, and her mood swings seemed to get worse. She told her gyn about this, and she insisted that she needed to give it more time to work. After about 2 months, she upped her dosage.

From my perspective, I could see the changes, and I didn't like it. She seemed emotionally "vacant", for lack of a better term. She wasn't happy, wasn't sad, wasn't ANYTHING. Like an emotional zombie. She had ZERO libido or enthusiasm for anything that she normally liked to do... and still, the menopause symptoms for which the drug was prescribed continued - if anything, they got worse.

To add insult to injury, she gained a considerable amount of weight while on this drug, and I think that finding out that this this is a COMMON side effect was the last straw for her. After about six months, she decided enough was enough, and quit cold turkey.

BAD MOVE. She started having all of the withdrawal symptoms that others have described here - brain zaps, severe anxiety, panic attacks, paranoia, VICIOUS mood swings, anger, rage, insomnia, lethargy, irrational behavior, suicidal thoughts... it was insane.

She contacted her doctor who (finally) told her that she shouldn't quit suddenly, but needed to step down gradually, and that it may take MONTHS before she could quit entirely. Gee, thanks for the info, doc!.

Needless to say, I was PISSED OFF that her doctor had prescribed such an EVIL med without bothering to tell her of the HELL she faced with the side-effects and the fucking withdrawals. And to make matters worse, the menopause symptoms for which it was prescribed were worse than ever.

To make a long story longer, the Mrs, having finally researched the drug, stoically resigned herself to the ordeal that she would be facing in weaning herself off of that poison, but about a month into the process, she began searching for something, ANYTHING that WOULD help to alleviate the menopause symptoms for which the (evil and worthless) Paxil had been originally prescribed.

Unable to take hormones, and unwilling to try other SSRI's as her doctor suggested, she tried several different herbal remedies, with little success, and then she ordered a bottle of this product from Amazon, and by god, it worked! Not only did it relieve her hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, etc, but she swears that it relieved the Paxil withdrawal symptoms that were torturing her. She was able to quit the Paxil entirely after about a month, and with few of the repercussions that she had been suffering.

That was several years ago. She credits her ability to quit the Paxil with minimal problems to this product, and has carried on with the Wisdom ever since. At first she took it religiously, but now her meno symptoms have diminished considerably, and she only uses it on occasion, as needed, especially for anxiety / emotional issues. Unlike the Paxil, she has not experienced any "withdrawal symptoms" when she stops taking the Wisdom. For her, it has been a "miracle", and she recommends it to everyone, she regularly buys it for our daughter, who suffers from PMS / PMDD.

BONUS: Zero negative side-effects (at least that I can see).

TLDR: I don't like discussing my personal life on Reddit, but this product made such a HUGE difference for my wife that she insisted that I share it with you in the hopes that some of you might benefit.

Your actual mileage may vary.
