You have no fucking clue what a “real non-binary” person is or isn’t, and neither do I. I’m not one and I presume neither are you. But as someone who is a binary trans woman and has had to listen to legions of fucking ignoramuses lecture me on how I am not real, am not legitimate, am “mentally ill,” blah blah blah because they don’t understand what it is that I am and can’t be bothered to learn (or choose to be willfully ignorant), I have sympathy for other people who are going through the same thing, and a natural desire to give them the benefit of the doubt and listen to what they have to say about themselves before pretending I know everything about them and writing them off.
