New World devlopers shocked that pvp became 'toxic'. Respond by making all pvp optional.

Well it used to work... It was in almost every MMORPG that released over a decade ago. Players in EU/NA changed. Now most of them just want to login, do dailies, logout and feel as if their character progressed significantly. This relates to mobile gaming and why it's doing so well. With how easy most are they've have basically turned into RPG's with dailies.

I just want castle sieges, territory wars, real punishment for death and an economy that doesn't rely on that one or two endgame dungeons but on actual people playing as merchants, fishermans, farmers, etc...

Basically BDO without Pearl Abyss fucking it all over with mechanics and systems that are made with cash shop in mind. That and the insane price tags on what they sell....
