you can be in a comfortable position, and still care for other people in the world. those arent mutually exclusive. for all you know, they volunteer on a regular basis to help, you dont know.

expressing sympathy to those in a hard time is the least someone could do, dont hate on someone you dont know for doing so. at least theyre doing it, and im sure people appreciate that the outside world feels for their hard times. these things can affect us all down the line, so even though some are in a warm room, that doesnt mean we arent or wont be affected.
