New Years blues? When this post is about 5 hours old, legendary player Sockso Wattson will stream Tyrian Meditation at https://www.twitch.tv/sockso ... As a Nomad Elementalist.

Thank you for your kind well written post m3dium. I understand new and different may seem "weird" at first. As a linguistics enthusiast, I take pleasure choosing my words with care. I put significant effort into my interactions and posts. Folks are free to vote how they please, or even block me if it really comes to that. Though I am curious as to the nature of such Gastonian feather ruffling.

I have been though a certain type of rare hell not many would or could survive. This gives me a rather unique perspective. This type of uniqueness is the essence of what gives diversity itself value.

I know not everyone understands every single word or sentence I speak, however I may be choosing my target audience with each word.

My language might sound odd to you, but can you imagine from my perspective?

I've read The Lord of the Flies about a dozen times in my life. Each time the books gives up more secrets. Each time, it's a new experience.

Incidently, it was linguistic pursuits which brought me to Guild Wars initially. Have you ever noticed how each guild has it's own lingo? Any group of friendship? Any marriage? Any subreddit? If we study the Proto Indo-European langue family from its probable origins nestled on the banks Blacks Sea to Norman conquests across the Strait of Gibraltar, we notice adaptations based both on the function of the language and the ease of expression. I know words carry weight. It's why English speakers can more easily identify luxurious meats like "porc" and "beouf," while peasant fairs such a "poulet" remain a bit more clouded in general. Ever consider how we are limited to 5 guilds. Ever consider that while considering the individual geographic isolation of the Pacific Island language families?

I can see the value in a dank meme, cynical otherwise.

Another factor one might consider is my game ambitions. I've accomplished everything I want to in the game. I just spent the last of my gold on the Privateer Septer skin and an almost full set of Nomad's gear for my ele.

I don't require universal popularity. I value a single person, each single person as a miraculous thing. Wow! If I can talk to a person, it's that amazing? I was able to maybe have some sort of positive interaction with an actual living breathing individual! That sounds worth my time.

I came here thousands of hours ago quite ill and isolated. I have met others who want something more from this game. I am in humble service to them. It's okay if 99.9999% of the players want something else. That's cool. That's great. I wish them nothing but the best. I love all players and all fine folks.

Maybe I'm free to dance along my anterior commissure. I have been thanked time and time again for my writting and work both in and out of game. It's okay if not all of posts are slam dunks, similarly it's okay if you wipe sometime. I would suggest the effort and practice have value.

As Dumbledore once said, "Really Hagrid, if you are holding out for universal popularity, I'm afraid you will be in this cabin for a very long time"

Cheers to you my friend! <(:-)
