New Years resolutions/goals for 2019?

Everyone says hobbies, but if you can find 2-3 big ones that relate together that you can really dedicate time towards you'll find you really want more time to do what you end up loving. Creative works like arts are the perfect source. I like to paint, hike, and learn about rocks and minerals. On their own they sound cool but take up time or aren't as "interesting" or generic like what other people may do. Combined together, while I paint random abstract art I'll also do landscape scenes of places I went hiking (for example I don't take 14er summit pics I paint the mountain itself as a marker) and in the wild I choose trails that go among interesting geology and landscapes. I use my knowledge of geology to find interesting mineral or rock outcrops I can photograph and paint later (or if it's up close to a trail and summertime I'll do some plein-air). My interest in geology has made me an avid rock collector and I'll take those minerals and rocks later home to paint and keep in my bookcase. Knowing the geology also means if I go rock-climbing I know more about the routes I can take and have a better appreciation for trad-climbing new routes to see more things to paint. In one sweep I do painting, rock collecting, and hiking, all 3 interesting hobbies on their own without feeling like I'm spending a lot of effort on doing just one at a time.
