Indian living in the US here with my two cents:
The New York Times has a lot of balls calling out other counties for religious nationalism while the US is literally peddling Christian nationalism within its own borders. Not denying Hindu nationalism isn't a problem in India. It definitely is, and a concerning one at that. But this is just one of the types of meddling in international affairs I absolutely despise from America. I hope to see an India that is self-reflective on its own accord and doesn't pander to western media reporting because it's never done in good faith, but more importantly, because America is not a suitable example of how to deal with religious nationalism. This is equivalent to your alcoholic neighbor lecturing you about why you should cut down on drinking.
