New Yorkers back Beto O'Rourke with phone banks and fund-raisers, hoping to end Ted Cruz's time in the Senate: "The only reason why I'm comfortable doing that is because the Senate has national implications and we're at a point in time when there's a sense of urgency on so many issues."

I moved from NYC to Texas a few years ago. I can’t tell if this was the author’s goal, but here in Texas, this whole article is basically a big advertisement for Ted Cruz. I hope it doesn’t get much circulation.

Texans of all political persuasions, from the most conservative to the most liberal, really don’t take kindly to non-Texans telling them what to do with their local politics. Many liberals I’ve met seem ok with outside donations to Beto, because they know he needed money after turning down PAC/corporate contributions. But even they draw the line at phone-banking for him from outside Texas.

Personally, I’m happy to see all the support. But I’m not a Texan. I just vote here now.
