New Zealand bans all new offshore oil exploration as part of 'carbon-neutral future' - “committing to transition to 100% of electricity generation from renewable sources by 2035 and making the economy carbon neutral by 2050.”

Do you know how destructive renewable energy sources are? Where do you think all the materials to make photovoltaic panels and foundry products used to make windfarm turbines come from?

Mining. Clear cutting trees and destroying habitats to tear up the earth, which displaces countless species and throws billions and trillions of particulates of minerals and debris into the air. Then, the immense pollution created by refining these minerals into usable products. That's not to mention the pollution created by the energy used to power all the equipment and vehicles and buildings where this stuff is going to be made.

We can't make the SLOW transition to doing things better until we can stand on our own two feet and take care of ourselves first.

We can help the planet recover, even now, but we have to make some sacrifices first. What is your complaining doing to help? Not a damn thing.
