New Zealand can now fine travellers who refuse to unlock their digital devices for a search

I live in New Zealand. It's nice, but very far from the most beautiful country in the World.

For example - our Mountains and Lakes are amazing, but not as mind blowing as say, Yosemite or the Rockies or the Swiss Alps. We have great beaches, but the ones in Australia or the Pacific Islands or even Southern California are even better.

We have boiling mud and Geysers, but nowhere near the scale of Yellowstone.

What we do have is a great deal of diverse scenery in a very small geographic area, and that's what I really really love about my country. It's a small place that puts a lot of very different natural environments close together in a way that means it exceeds the sum of it's parts.

Yes, this law is fucked.
