The next season is just around the corner :: What can we do better at /r/GeelongCats

The biggest thing this sub needs to grow is more participation. Of course to get more participation, we need more subscribers! That said, I think if a half dozen or so people comment regularly and post things, then it should start growing a fair bit quicker. It needed new life injected and I'm glad you've taken over and are running with it, as I think that will help a lot!

Submissions form more sources would be handy. I post most things I see from geelongcats.com.au that are relevant and a few things from the Addy, but it would be good to see posts from other sources to get less of a Geelong-centric view of the club.

Pre-match threads are a good idea, though I wonder how much traction they will get. Of course that doesn't matter because you have to start somewhere and even if it's just a few people, it's the beginning. I used to post team selection each week but gave up= at some stage. I probably shouldn't have.

B&F is cool - I'd join in.

Tipping is always a bit of fun. Maybe we could do a season long tipping competition before round 1, as getting people to stay around and tip each week can be difficult. Everyone submits their tips for all 23 rounds and we track it through the season?

I don't play Supercoach, but best of luck. It does seem to get people very involved in discussion, so it could help.

AMA - always a good idea, but would probably be better suited over at /r/AFL whilst numbers are low here.

A twitter account that posts links to submissions here could be a way to make people aware of this place who wouldn't otherwise know. Again, there might not be enough discussion now, but you have to start somewhere.
