NFL Network analysts choose their Comeback Player of the Year, James Jones chose Tony Romo since he made it to the Championship game for the first time in his career.

See, now you are being disrespectful. To use your point, football is a team game, and there are 21 other plays on the field (43 if we're counting special teams) who have to improve for a team to improve. The Rams have a great defense, with an incredible line; their offensive line is much improved, the receiving corps seems to be much improved from last year (gained experience, fewer drops, etc); Zeuerlein was an absolute god this year; and they have a solid special teams as well, which leads to better field position. Add to that that McVay and LeFleur are clearly miles better than Fisher and his staff at utilizing their weapons, and I think it's very fair to say that Gurley stood a solid chance at having a bounceback year, even without Goff doing what he did. Obviously, it's a hypothetical, but it's absurd how defensively you're reacting to this when it doesn't even disagree with your original post.
