NFL Standings for the past decade

I’m sure this isn’t original, but I’m too lazy to scroll through all the comment so I’m just going to assume I was the first to come up with this idea: let’s make this a single season record and examine what the postseason would be like. In all cases I assume that the players and coaches are the ones on each team when said team was at their 2010s peak. I know very little about football, but here’s how I think that hypothetical mega-season’s playoffs would go...

The AFC seedings are as follows 1. Patriots 2. Steelers 3. Chiefs 4. Texans 5. Ravens 6. Broncos

And the NFC would be: 1. Packers 2. Seahawks 3. Saints 4. Eagles 5. Falcons 6. Cowboys

***if we used the updated seven team per conference playoff format, the Colts and Vikings would be the third wildcard in their respective conferences. I think both would lose in the wild card round so this is a moot point.

Wild card weekend commences: Chiefs v. Broncos Texans v. Ravens Saints v. Cowboys Eagles v. Falcons

I’ll give it to the 3 and 5 seeds, so KC, BAL, NO, and ATL progress to the divisional round

The divisional round Patriots v. Ravens Steelers v. Chiefs Packers v. Falcons Seahawks v. Saints

Some of these matchups have occurred sometime in the past decade (IIRC, Seahawks-Saints is the only one that hasn’t), but I’m gonna ignore that and say Pats, Chiefs, Packers, and Seahawks win.

The championship games are Patriots v. Chiefs Packers v. Seahawks

Both of these have been championship games in the last decade (although the 2014 Seahawks and 2018 Chiefs had HFA). There are four super bowl matchups we could form from this.

Patriots v. Packers: The Brady-Rodgers matchup we’ve all been waiting for. The GOAT debate would finally be settled once and for all. As a Bears fan, I’d root for Rodgers solely so I’d feel less bad for being his bitch the past several years.

Patriots v. Seahawks: This is just Super Bowl XLIX. That was widely considered one of the closest super bowls ever, if not the closest. Hopefully the Seahawks run the ball this time.

Chiefs v. Packers: the State Farm Super Bowl, a rematch of Super Bowl I, the Bad Man versus the Frog Man, this battle would be LEGENDARY.

Chiefs v. Seahawks: this was the final matchup of the all-century team tournament (I can’t remember what it was called exactly) from a few months ago. The Legion of Boom vs. the Legion of Zoom.
