NFL Sunday Morning Discussion (September 18, 2016)

Hey guys,

I’ve continued to make improvements to Daily Fantasy Nerd based on your feedback since the start of the NFL season.

Here are the latest updates:

  • Added Projected Opportunity Stats - we now display projected pass attempts, rush attempts, and targets in the players table (under the "P" column). You can sort by this column to see which players we believe have the most chances to score fantasy points. These players will tend to have both high floors and high ceilings.
  • Projected Usage Rate by Team - I'm really excited about this new feature that shows projected usage rate based on the projected opportunity stats. In this NFL usage rate video (link), I discuss why usage rate matters, how to leverage usage rate for cash vs gpp contests, and when to stack multiple WRs. Here's a sample breakdown (link) for Week 3's top 5 offenses.
  • Projection Analysis by Position - view pearson correlation accuracy analysis broken down by position. If you upload multiple projection sources, this is helpful for seeing which projection sources are most accurate at which positions. You'll also find that the TE and D positions generally have the lowest correlations, which usually means you'll want to lean toward punting those positions for cash games.
  • Bug fixes

Please let me know what you think of the latest updates and what else you’d like to see added. Thanks!
