Ngl, i'd be much more understanding of the hate against Sonic mains...

Not interested in competitive Smash, but I checked out the match between MkLeo and Sonix after seeing a lot of people complaining about it. Even someone as inexperienced in the field as me was able to recognise that that match was just not engaging in any way. Being seen as ‘boring’ is probably the worst thing you can be in this sort of environment as you have the potential to drive people away from the game. It’s no secret that some people in this community copy whatever professional players do in a desperate attempt to seem skilled. It’s why lots of people starting using Ganondorf. It’s why lots of people started using Wolf. It’s why lots of people started using Joker.

Even if Sonix used boring methods to win that tournament, he still won. People are worried that this will inspire more people to use this degenerate playstyle as they’ll now think that it genuinely works.
