NHS chief says loot boxes are "setting kids up for addiction" to gambling

Games have been "addictive" for a long time, but the way games now directly or indirectly monitise the addiction with RNG based microtransactions should be seriously looked into. Its possible to easily spend thousands on a single game in just a single week. The games could also manipulate odds or game design to try and get people to spend more.

Game devs should've self regulated with the rating boards a long time ago to at least say any game with these kinds of microtransactions is 18+ but instead they just stuck their fingers in their ears and watched the money pour in. Now here come the government that dont even play video games to regulate them, whatever happens next they had it coming.
