Nick Diaz shares interesting piece on fighter pay based on Roy Nelson

No were talking his whole career. And the fact he has been fighting most of his life to get to this point.

What does that have to do with the UFC? He wasn't fighting for them most of his life, since he has been signed with them though he has made tons more than most people make. The UFC isn't responsible for making up his lack of pay before he was with them.

His sponsors are not the UFC, we're talking his UFC money. Plus with the reebok deal thats out the window anyway.

You just said we were talking about his whole career. You can't have it both ways. His sponsorship money is part of the money he made during his career. Plus, even though the Reebok deal sucks in my opinion, he is getting money from them as well as the UFC.

That's your own problem, there are jobs that could have payed you more than what nelson has made if you were there 20 years.

Except Nelson has made what he made in only 6 years, and hell, his entire MMA career is only 12 years.

Plus Nelson risks his health and safety to do what he does which makes this a poor comparison to begin with.

Let's be honest though, the training Nelson does probably substantially improves his health. He is far from being the pillar of fitness, he would be a walking heart attack if he didn't have a career that revolves around working out.

Which I did, and stated that if he was a plumber he might have more money than he does as a professional fighter. Which is sad.

On a year to year basis, there is no plumber making what Nelson makes. Also Nelson didn't even start his career until he was in his late 20's. It's not even close to being relevant.
