Nicolas Cage Says He Doesn’t ‘Understand the Conflict’ Over ‘Masterful’ Marvel Movies vs. Art Films

My problem with Marvel isn't to do with Marvel specifically, but with Disney. I don't like how much IP they've absorbed over the last decade. After the success of early "funny" Marvel movies (gotg comes to mind), a lot of Disney's IP has adopted the same quippy bright tone. All of their movies feel the same, and for some reason a ton of people love that so it's dominating the cinema sphere.

I don't think marvel should be compared to art house films - there's a place for both of them. It just sucks that marvel and by extension Disney is so dominant right now and I worry that it's going to get worse as Disney continues to absorb more franchises.
