NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 - Review Thread

I'm absolute garbage at bullet hell games so maybe we just started off on the wrong foot with that to begin with. Once we were into the more 3D platformer bits THAT is a game I can jive with. And I enjoyed that bit quite a lot! ...but then we went into more bullet hell bits and it was at that point that I decided I just couldn't stick this out. I can't do the genre shifting, I really can't. I've been told that it settles down later into the game, but...that presents the same problem that Final Fantasy 13 did.

Maybe my brain is just wired wrong but I can't get into a game if it doesn't present me with a compelling reason to continue within the first hour. This has been a blessing and a curse.
