NikkieTutorials Deleted Tweets After the 'Pride' Snaps.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion but I think people get offended over everything these days. What happened in Orlando was HORRIBLE. There's no debating that and it's terrifying. I understand that the lgbt community feels fear, and I'm so sorry about that. No one should feel terrified in their own home, town, city, venue, etc. No one goes out to a bar and expects this to happen. It happens, and that scares everyone.

However, Nikki is on a public forum. Perhaps that is how she copes with what happens. Because as a white straight female, there isn't too much she can do. Sure she can donate money, but everyone has different "opinions" on what is appropriate in light of this situation. Using her platform with a large amount of followers is a tool for awareness. Everyone is going to call her out, and any other youtuber or large influencer out, for not being sympathetic enough. Her "statement" will always not be enough in someones eyes.

That's not to say I'm a fan of Nikki. I'm tired of her selling out. I didn't like her statement that there will be no ad on her channel because it's just another way of pointing out that she always is selling out.

But if a makeup look can shine light on her support for the lgbt community, I don't see what's so bad about that. I think Nikki isn't going to make everyone happy, because no youtuber is going to make everyone happy. But if Nikki was going to post a look versus not acknowledging the situation at all, I'd rather her post the makeup look. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

People were going to watch tutorials on her channel if she posted the gay pride look or not. It's not like Nikki can just turn off the revenue COMPLETELY for the look. It's better than ignoring gay pride completely. If nikki didn't post the look, there'd be backlash that she's approaching the day as a regular day.

That's not to say she should be monetizing the look. That's not to say she should be saying "You don't know what I've been through." Wha does that even MEAN, Nikki?

But showing support, and even trying to bring a smile on the face of someone in this community, I don't see how that's so bad.
