No amount of recycling or reduction in your consumption can fix the ecological destruction being done by mega corporations. Handing off the responsibility to individuals and convincing individuals to 'go green' is a business tacting to scrape more cash and pandering to the eco-friendly.

There is a massive difference between factories for food and agriculture alone and people making clothes that are thrown out so often that we have to ship them to Africa just to get rid of them.

We arent going to live in complete harmony but the reality is we are over consumers at a massive level right now. And its the developed nations that do the most of it. Just imagine trying to live a very basic minimal life, for instance my grandparents raised my dad in a house where 5 boys were stacked into 2 rooms so small modern Americans would call it a walk in closet. its completely possible for us to live on a fraction of what we do, the big problem is the developing world is trying to catch up to the developed world and thats why we are seeing huge demand and consumption increases. Instead of the developed world looking at things and saying we need to use and consume less the we are getting the opposite solution.
