I would like to point out that it took ten months to be discovered, long after iOS 11 had replaced iOS 10, the software that contained the update. If the throttling was as noticeable as claimed, surely one of the millions of affected iPhone users would have noticed way before then.

Not to say Apple fucked up by not expressly disclosing this, mind you, but the throttling really wasn’t much of an issue for the vast majority of users. I remember people being upset their slow phone was still slow after the battery was replaced. Yeah, that’s because the battery was only slowing down so much, their phones were actually just old and slow.
