Take a leaf out of my book:

My husband was always a “I don’t do presents” person. Birthdays, Christmas, you name it.

I always got him presents though, just smaller every time. And then eventually, present giving and celebrating was so diminished in my mind that I forgot. I full blown forgot his birthday. Just went about my day, turned down sex, etc. it got to evening and he told me all upset that I’d forgotten about him.

Well, you had better believe than he does presents now. Bought me a big present for my birthday, went and wrapped presents for me last night and put them under the tree all proud. Actually said “I didn’t realise how nice giving a present could be”, yeah like 45 years later dude, but ok.

Anyway, my advice: forget his birthday. He’s soon reconsider his attitude.
