No country on Earth is taking the 2 degree climate target seriously: we are betting our collective future on being able to bury millions of tons of carbon. It’s a huge and existentially risky bet — and maybe one out of a million people even know it’s being made.

As cruel as this is going to sound. Once the older generations pass away, hopefully our generation will be informed enough to take the necessary steps. Unfortunately the older generations weren't privileged enough to be informed like we were. We have so many sources of media today, the internet gives the younger generation an incredible array of ways to research and educate ourselves. My parents believe in some of it, though they came from a time where oil and gas weren't seen as a threat. Then they're at the point in their life where they're getting old and don't want to be bothered with bad news. A lot of people just can't face the facts as they're to harsh to accept. We need to find a way to expedite this process of education. Not only that you have huge lobbyists funded by the oil and gas industry who essential hold our political representatives in grid lock. The elected official are reimbursed for their support in campaign donation, or potential employment after they're out of office. It's our whole system as a whole that had built up this huge barrier. Sadly we have reached a point where temperatures are going to rise. Were going to be left with a staggering challenge in the foreseeable future, as low level coastal cities, towns of whatever it may be start to be flooded. All those lobbyist/PR deniers will have cashed in by then, though they'll have to come face to face with the reality of things as it slaps us all in the face. One big thing that kind of makes me laugh, people like trump and his denier friends want to keep foreigners out of their countries, well when millions are displaced due to flooding, when the immigrant crisis really begins, what will they say then? Denying it will only lead to an even larger crisis then they could even gauge the scope of. At this point, I think it's everybody for them self. We have failed the whole "coming together" part.
