I've never had to buy a new guitar or amp because 'a new, better one came out.' Also, those things all have uses outside of the hobby. Consoles are JUST for gaming.

Look dude, I have no problems with gaming, but it's an insanely ridiculous hobby. I've seen a LOT of people dump thousands into it. With no tangible benefit outside fun. A woodworker can give his wife a chair to sit in,you can give me a ride in your offroading, one guitar for a lifetime can write a million songs.... gaming is specifically expensive and based on tech which outdates itself constantly.

Hard example? Okay. A Steam library of 900- which I've seen- is MSRP as high as $54,000. That's a fucking house in Ohio.
