To answer your question I think it will be right back to business as usual. One big reason is one word. Spore. Spore already happeend. Then when the NMS thing started up I just laughed. I had high hopes but it all reminded me of Spore.... and many other games tbh.

I think it won't change much. I think there is a crossection of people who change because of this and I think in that there is another crosseciton of people who are kinda new to all of it and don't even know what Spore is etc... But the larger picture are people who I think love the strife more than anything. It's a win win. If the game is great then they get to be day1 "I told you so" and get their pre order bonuses and all that consumerism. But if the game is really bad they get to engage in fun victim antics and shit talk. In a way a lot of people just remind me of the guy at the bar who wants to get into a fight.. "Next guy who bumps me wrong gets socked!" That guy is not going to learn or resolve anything. The drama is half the fun and desire.

It would be interesting to see this change anything. But I think we will see more in the future.
