No more running for me?

I was diagnosed with adult-onset Osgood-Schlatter’s late last year, along with fraying of the patellar tendon. Yes it was incredibly painful at all times. I have been running for over 10 years, with several marathons under my belt. This was a devastating diagnosis for me.

Physical Therapy and compression calf sleeves did the trick for me. I started with slow and low distance. Built up while always wearing the sleeves. Did a full Ironman in July and a marathon just two days ago.

My point is- (and none of this substitutes for medical advice) get a second opinion from an Ortho doc that knows running well. Exhaust options before giving up. I wish you the best and hope you can get back out there.

(P.s. even if running still doesn’t work out for you, Aqua bike is a thing!)
