I’ve had my own mother tell me that if I’m out at night being “a slut” because of wearing “indecent clothes”, then what happens next is my own stupidity. I’ve had colleagues tell me that I shouldn’t have worn a tight fit sweater when two men on the street groped me on my way to work, because they “take that as a sign”.

Your clothing does not dictate the amount of men you sleep with or your provocative sex life. Not to mention “slut” has consistently been used as a negative slur for women who have active consensual sex lives. The insult is that if they’re okay with 1000 consensual sexual experiences, then they’re essentially “asking” for one that isn’t.

Rapists be raping, and rape culture advocates be enforcing the rapists’ actions.
