No power, then crank no start

Remove your intake hose from the air filter housing and spray a good bit of carb cleaner in there. If it starts and dies, you have a fuel delivery issue. If not, it's likely ignition related. If you have a distributor, pull the coil wire from the cap and set it somewhere so it has about a quarter inch gap. Observe for spark while someone cranks it. I usually wedge the boot under the number three plug wire on the head and adjust the gap for observation. Check the connections for the distributor pickup coil and crank position sensor, bend the wires around a bit just behind the connector on the sensor side and see if it starts. If so, and it dies when you play with the connector, change that sensor. The sensor side wiring is about 20g and can break inside the insulation, causing an intermittent problem.
