I have no self control so gambling needs to be illegal!

My mistake then. In my opinion it's a lot of fun, but people need to understand they're at a disadvantage to the casino before coming. I'll usually come in with a certain amount of money I'm willing to blow, and leave it at that. I've seen people in there late at night making multiple ATM trips though. One time at a table there was a guy who made a pretty big bet on blackjack and won, he started going crazy. The table was cheering him, the floor managers were high fiving him, everyone was really excited and we were having a lot of fun. Then he let the money ride, and won again, and everyone went even more crazy than before. Then he let the money ride again, and lost. He walked away in shame, but came back five minutes later with $300 crisp from the ATM. Put it all down on one hand and lost. The floor manager came over afterward and said "Damn some people need to learn when to count their chips and call it quits". During that whole sequence of events I lost like $40-$50. But hey, no one forced this guy to put all of that money down. He made all of these decisions completely by himself, so I can't say I felt sorry for him. He knew the risks and played anyway, the chance of winning was worth the cost to him.

Moral of the story, gambling can be a lot of fun. But, if you make poor choices, it can quickly become not fun at all.
